Purpose:
This policy defines mandatory safety standards for all personnel living and working within Anchorlight Consortium orbital habitats, ensuring protection of life, mission continuity, and structural integrity.

1. Purpose

To safeguard life and maintain stable operations within all orbital habitats managed by the Anchorlight Consortium.

2. Scope

Applies to all crew, researchers, and visitors aboard orbital platforms, stations, and research habitats operating in low, mid, or high orbit.

3. Policy Statement

  • Life support systems must maintain continuous telemetry and redundant backups.
  • Crew must complete certified emergency training annually.
  • Safety drills are to occur quarterly per station directive.
  • Radiation shielding must meet or exceed baseline protection standards.
  • Command centers must maintain 24/7 communication with Orbital Operations Control.

4. Roles and Responsibilities

Orbital Operations Manager Ensures overall compliance and annual safety review.
Habitat Commanders Implement safety protocols and maintain readiness logs.
Safety Officers Conduct routine inspections and document safety audits.
Crew Members Follow procedures and report hazards immediately.

5. Exceptions

Exceptions may be granted by the Orbital Operations Manager during emergencies or experimental missions requiring deviation from standard procedures.

6. Review and Revision

The Orbital Safety Review Board will review this policy every two years or following any significant safety event.
